Hungarian 101st Reconnaissance Air Regiment’s colourful MiG-15s
Only a small number of Hungarian MiG-15bis Fagot-B and MiG-15UTI Midget were in active service by the early seventies. In the autumn of 1971, the 101st Reconnaissance Air Regiment was set up at Szolnok airport.
The MiG-15's were painted camouflage of two or three colours on the up to then silver MiG-15s in 1972.
On 1 September 1975, for the first time in the history of Hungarian Army Aviation a Ministerial order was issued for the final retirement of the MiG-15s. Three MiG-15UTI Midget in excellent condition were sold to Bulgaria. this was the last event in the history of the MiG-15 in Hungary, of an aircraft type which began the jet-age in this country.
